By popular request, we have released the soundtrack of our award-winning film Desert Dreams: Celebrating Five Seasons in the Sonoran Desert as a stand-alone music CD. This music combines natural sounds with a kaleidoscope of flute and percussion vignettes by Gary Stroutsos.
The CD features 29 musical instruments from around the world, mostly made from clay, bamboo, or cedar. You can hear, for example, indigenous Southwestern rim flutes, Chinese bamboo Dize & Xiao flutes, an African clay pot udu drum, a Cuban marimbula thumb piano, a Middle Eastern frame drum, and a clay ocarina.
